Red Alert - Our 1953 USSR

1 - A, it would be beneficial for both the USSR and the other communist nations.

2 - C, let the people decide.

3 - Encourage agricultural cooperatives and field mechanization at first. Subsequently, include in the studies focused on agronomy having to spend time on farms and fields, carrying out studies, listening to farmers, seeing crops and traditional forms of work... to encourage future agronomists to know the various realities agricultural and so that the Soviet peasants see them as companions at work, instead of urban bureaucrats who are unaware of the countryside and its reality, initiate studies of the various agricultural regions, to study the fertility of the soil, which has been cultivated, which performance it has had, how it has worked... in order to increase the harvests obtained. Finally, begin to develop non-very invasive fertilizers and pesticides and campaigns to avoid killing certain animals traditionally considered harmful to the fields but which, in reality, feed on insects or other animals that would harm crops.

4 - At first, approach Nasser with agreements to support and help his ambitious agricultural and industrial modernization programs, also offering mutually beneficial economic, educational and technological agreements.
Regarding pan-Arabism, do not encourage it, but neither despise it, leave it as an internal Arab matter, a dream encouraged by the British in the Great War and that the different Arab states have to decide whether or not they want to implement it.

1. Should USSR pursue similar program to American "Atoms for Peace"?
A) Yes
B) No

2. Should Crimea be transferred from Russian SSR to Ukrainian SSR?
A) Yes
B) No
C) Let referendum decide

3. Please write down, how agricultural output and productivity can be increased in the USSR?

4. Please write down, how should the USSR deal with the new Egyptian premier Gamal Abdel Nasser and Pan-Arabism?
1. A, we indeed should but also ensure to emphasize the "pursue of the atom" in a socialist light, where something that so far has been used for destruction can now be used for the betterment of the common man by giving him energy but also stress the "need to defend ourselves".

2. B, ideally speaking, we shouldn't even touch such a hornet's nest to begin with and let sleeping dogs lie but if the issue gets enough traction, we could call a referendum and regardless of the decision, also add provisions that will defend the other languages and peoples in the region.

3. Above everything, we should look into a revised system of land reform according to what the lands can produce and how fertile they are so that farmers don't end up with bad lands who can produce little while we expect him to survive but also ensure it's done in such a way that is enough for farmers to produce and sell surplus, this goes hand in hand with a heavy emphasis on bringing modernized farming techniques and equipment to ensure the best harvest possible as well as avoiding soil erosion and overuse, which brings up the question of a sustainable development as we can begin to educate farmers on the real dangers that damaging the environment can bring to the harvests and ensure reforestation initiatives to already damaged areas and proper pollution prevention on body of waters that are often critical for watering crops(yes this includes avoiding the Aral Sea disaster)

4. I think we're underestimating Egypt and Pan Arabism here, there was once a real project about a possible united Syria, Sudan, Egypt, Iraq and Jordan that if we can encourage and make it happen, we'll have a anti western ally in West Asia who control key trade lanes, controls a huge reserve of oil and can be the perfect thing to prevent the rise of Radical Islam and shows Muslims(especially ones in the USSR) that it's possible to be a devout Muslim while still being in a secular socialist state, plus Israel wouldn't be able to resist such a massive thing and we can squash the Israel issue on the bud already, thus ensuring a massive deal of good will between us and the Arab world which we could exploit in many, many ways. To start our relationship with Egypt, we should engage in diplomatic overturns to offer them support in their fight against Colonialism and Western Imperialism alongside the providing of technical expertise to advance their nation and industry and military equipment and training(ESPECIALLY for the officers' corps), alongside a economic trade deal between nations to formalize ties and that we see them as a equal nation worthy of respect.

Seems a bit to idealistic all things considered, especially with all of the young leaders looking to exploit the situation and cause major instability. I agree there was an effort to create a Pan-Arab State but it also fells like as time went on all of the members increasingly did not want to be part of said Pan-Arab State and even if say Israel is defeated and Palestine joins, we will still see division between Egypt and the rest of the Arab states which is the real problem. As long as Egypt is the one leading the charge there will always be tension between them and the rest considering the amount of influence they will have and will push to have since I honestly do not see Egypt supporting a pan-Arab state unless they are the dominant force in said union.

Honestly I think it could work, Nasser was seen as a major inspiration to the Arab world and keeping him as leader of said thing for enough time he can smooth out the edges and ensure it survives beyond him is all we need, but as long as can crush Israel(another thing that would massively boost Nasser's image) and manage to create a sense of brotherhood and unity between the secular Arab states, we can have a stable Western Asian and consider it a job well done.

Honestly I think Israel existing and the constant struggle against them did more in supporting Arab unity than Nasser or the Arab states themselves. I mean without Israel the nations lose any real opposition to untie them or to send their young men into which will just allow more attention to be focused inwards and into the failings of the Arab leaders and the less than great leadership they had.

Not only were many of these nations constantly dealing with the attempts and successful attempts in leadership, but also with general infighting both within the nations and across the Arab world in general.

just be prepared for backlash but if we want all of the Middle East in our shoulders this is how we must do it and also the western Allie’s would lose all that sweet oil

This is just going to force the US and the West to move towards mass adoption of nuclear and renewable resources significantly earlier and with far more vigor than OTL. None of the oil producers are going to find support especially from the government when doing so will force them to become reliant on an enemy state for said oil.

Yes and this is exactly why we want the UAR to exist so we can get that needed oil and soon we can liberate Africa and also can you imagine how angry the western Allie’s will feel when they have to get oil from some place else and not sniff eugh communist

This just seems to put us as the new imperialistic power in place of the west/US. Will not surprise me if we are fighting Muslim extremists in the Middle East or Africa at some point, while dealing with a massive wave of refugees.

We would alway be seen as imperialist by the captialist it in their nature because we’re freaking communist we’re something they can’t understand and fear

I mean we will be the imperialists in a literal sense, because at this point we will be the ones trying to establish and maintain a Soviet controlled world system ruled by the Soviet Union/Russia. Being communists has nothing to do with it and the west was always going to be against us. I am talking on what we will become.
