Short Stirling used as Maritime Patrol Aircraft for Battle of Atlantic?

Here's a nasty thought. That squadron of Lincolns dropping maximum loads of fuel air explosives in bombs the size if normal 1000lb's.

Having a solid nose Sterling for Anti shipping/Anti Submarine work in the Far East might be interesting. Something like a Big Brother to the B25's that were doing that. Imagine having some Australians flying them and trying to compete with the US aircraft or even flying together in a. 1 2 punch thing.

I've seen it suggested that problem of the two aircraft meeting up at the right time in the right place, failure to do so being a bad thing to happen......but that shouldn't stop the tanker following the LRMP out and refueling it at a certain time.
It isn't just the fuel used in the climb - maximum take-off weight is also a significant consideration. Should be possible fly quite happily while significantly above MTOW, since you no longer have to be able to climb over obstacles while accelerating. Additionally if you're refuelling on the outward leg only there's no reason not to cut a patrol short if you miss your tanker.
