I wonder if we will see an assassination attempt on Goldwater which if successful will bring vice president Walker to the front with Rockwell as the mastermind from behind.
They both were racists and fascists otl so they might trigger the civil war with their policies.

Now I'm wondering if there is an actual chance for Remer to actually steps down, retire and hand over the throne to Klara. Yes it never happened before, but never before was there a Hitler with power to rouse the masses.

Btw, @Kaiser of Brazil How does Rockwell see the Civil Rights movement, MLK and Black Panthers?
At best it is an infiltration of Maoists and Progressives in order to destabilize America, at worst it is a dangerous group of separatists. Contrary to our world, he does not support Black Separatism as a form of segregation, Rockwell wants America united under a strong Executive office that ensures the essential "freedoms" of the people (mainly propriety rights) while sticking to principles based around an idealized version of the Founding Fathers that rejects representative democracy and basically anything that goes against a strict "WASP" mindset.

To him, killing MLK was an irresponsible act by the Smith administration which gave fuel to a terrorist organization made up by savage inferiors who became dangerous after being "disciplined" by the Black Panther movement. But on the other hand he sees as a positive the destruction of moderate Civil Rights group in order to discredit the movement in the eyes of the common American and associate Civil Rights with terror.

There is technically no system in Germany set in place for a peaceful power transmission, a Führer has never resigned before and the German Constitutional law (in fact the majority of the legal mindset) was abolished by the NSDAP over the previous 30-40 years, Goebbels gave the final nail in the coffin when he dismantled the reforms made by Paul Wegener because he essentially believed that an excessive "bureaucratization" and legalism would sap the movement of it's energy.

Whatever Remer says is the law, like an Absolutist Autocrat, in fact Germany became the "perfect" Totalitarian State under Goebbels who had none of the technical limitations which Hitler had in his rule.

So only difference with him from Otl is that he is less Germanophile and more Nationalist and favours Capitalism more?
Got it.

As you mentioned prior, during the 2nd Mexican War, the Marine Corps are often reliant on the Army for support. Do the Marines still have the same level of prestige that they have OTL?

The Marines do have more prestige than the army in a way, in December of 1945, during X-Day, Operation Sunset scheduled the invasion of Kyushu but, just like in real life, the Japanese guessed correctly where the US forces would be landing. The operation meant for 3 beaches to be the target of the landing, 2 invasions would be led by the Marines while the one at Myazaki would be led by the Army and the latter was repelled by the IJA.

There was also no European Theater of War, no D-Day or Bulge to brighten up the Army's reputation. The most the US Army did in the subsequent years was sending expeditionary forces into Russia (1947 with Patton and 1958 in the Ural War) and Israel (1947 and 1966).

As for the Marines needing support, the war in Mexico is mostly land-based and the coastlines won't be very contested by the Mexican Revolutionaries, they intend to draw the Marines into places like the Yucatan forests for guerrilla tactics.

I have to wonder since so many men are being sent to Mexico and how it seems like the war will be unpopular with the troops, will the military in Mexico turn back around and try "a March on Washington"?

If nothing else the American military forces in Mexico are going to be important to whichever side is in the Second American Civil War.

That depends on their loyalties, but there will be several American troops who end up "stranded" away from home, mainly in Mexico, Hawaii and Iceland.

Does anybody In Goldwater cab support segregation apart from VP?
Rockwell for sure, but while Goldwater is trying to accommodate all Republicans, most of his cabinet is neutral on the matter. Even if they distate segregation personally, they believe it should be left to each state like Goldwater believes. Many in the Republican Party believe that the Long/Hoffa/Smith administrations already did such a number on the 10th amendment that they refuse to interfere any further.
